Re: I feel you...

Common doesn't disappoint, but promoters and venue rentals etc., cahe n really drive up the cost.
Case in point, I went to see Com in B'more and I guess the promoter (who will remain nameless) wanted to ensure a profit just in case the med. sized venue did not sell out, so they drove the price to upwards of between 60 - 115.00 per ticket.

Seeing that I wanted to be up close and more personal, I opted for the 115.00 ticket. Never having been to this particular venue before, I can say that I will never pay for a ticket to see Com or any performer at "any" price again.

So please consider whether or not you are down with the particular venue, because it can really make you think twice about the pockets you just lined with you paper.

Bless Up Ya

Re: um...

i mean, i totally understand ya frustration about the ticket prices and the date of the concert, but...

for 1) Com does not make the prices of the tickets, so he's not at fault for that. that's the venue and promoter charging that amount. Mr. Lynn's a genuine dude, i think if he could he'd perform for free or the small college concerts he's used to doing all the time. but...he gotta eat too, rite?

and 2), since we all know it's not mandatory fa you to go to the show, buying a ticket is a decision you gotta make at your discretion. is it more important fa you to be @ work on time in the morning, or go to a ridiculous concert, that you KNOW for a fact will be a highlight of life for the next few months? (we all know dude kills it, lol.) can you afford giving up $40 at this point in time? i'm with you on the ticket prices - the first time i saw him he was actually opening for Ludacris @ a college concert and i saw both....for $20! i know you're jealous, lol. but yea, i had another opportunity to see him in Chicago with Joss Stone and it was around my b-day...but the tickets were like $60! i thought about it and decided to sit that one out. i may have gotten spoiled for paying next to nothing the first time i saw him, lol. but we may have to get used to paying a lil' more for his shows...he's becoming quite a hot commodity. but like i said, going the the concert is just something you would have to think about.

and oh yea...Com doesn't actually post up here, so i dunno if it does anything speaking to him directly.
